Premiere CD Released by Grandmothers for Peace - Maryland

The Maryland Chapter of Grandmothers for Peace is “Waging Peace for Children and Other Living Things” through release of a one-hour compilation CD of original music, uplifting poetry, and stirring quotations. All production and creative works are donated; proceeds benefit Medecins Sans Frontieres/ Doctors Without Borders and other non-profit groups. Powerful and evocative themes of children, families (including the soldier and his/her family) and the connections between peace, justice, human rights, and the survival of humankind on earth, carry the listener on a compelling journey of hope and inspiration. The executive producer, June Martyn, former radio producer for Greenpeace, beautifully blends music, poetry and compelling quotations from U.S. Presidents and major figures of our time to “tell the story”. At times poignant (“Please Bring My Daddy Home”), at times upbeat satire (“Propagandy”), always lyrical, the CD is above all a call to action, to begin “Waging Peace for Children and Other Living Things”.
